We love to introduce young people to the sheer joy of creating craft. Children and teens develop their ideas at their own pace in our supportive studio environment. They learn concrete skills and techniques to make pottery, metal jewelry, metal sculpture, baskets, papier mache sculpture, and more.

Age Groups for Child, Youth & Teen Classes

We offer classes designed for the following age groups:

  • Children (5 to 12 years)
  • Youth (10 to 13 years)
  • Teens (12 and up)

Benefits of Craft Classes for Children & Teens

When children engage in the craft making process, they develop artistic skills, as well as problem solving, critical thinking and social skills. Many craft projects require the use of math skills, and children become articulate communicators as they learn to describe their ideas to the instructor so that the idea can be come reality.

After-School Classes & Workshops in
Clay, Metalsmithing & Other Media

During the school semester we host after-school programs for children and teens in clay, metalsmithing, and other media.

By arrangement, children can come directly from school to CraftStudies. Pack them a snack and they will have chill time before getting creative!
